This inaugural 2010 Moving Towards a Cure Walk – Denver will start off this year’s National Brain Tumor Walks. This 5k Walk/Run and 1m Family Fun Run will take place Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver.
Moving Towards a Cure Walk – Denver is open to participants of all fitness levels and will provide two ways to complete the 5k; as either a walker or as a runner. We will also have a 1m Family Fun Run (or walk). In the true spirit of the event we encourage walkers and runners a like to revel in the community around them and celebrate their fundraising efforts together at this wonderful spirited event.
SURVIVORS, FAMILY, FRIENDS, TEAM and COMPANY TEAMS will come together with our corporate sponsor partners to enjoy a day of fun, food and music, while providing hope and support to all of our friends and family members affected by this devastating disease.
Based on great interest this event has already drawn from the community in and around Denver alone, attendance is expected to reach, and possibly exceed 300 participants!
In the spirit of the communities support and in an effort to fund cutting edge brain cancer research, the proceeds from the event will be used towards:
- The Children’s Hopital of Aurora – childhood brain cancer research
- Cutting Edge Brain Cancer Research
- Patient Travel Assistance
The Moving Towards a Cure Walk - Denver is made possible through the support of The Children’s Hospital, our sponsors and supports in the community and AirTran Airways. Without this support, we would not be Moving Towards A Cure.

Brain tumors are currently the #1 cause of solid tumor cancer death in children under the age of 20.
It's time for change! Help find a cure for this devastating disease.
